More About Debbie
Debbie Hamilton has worked with New Hope Counseling Center since its development in 2003. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and has been licensed with the state of Alaska since 2003. She is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. Debbie offers individual, couples and family counseling to clients ages eight thru adulthood. Prior to working at New Hope Counseling Center, Debbie worked as a Social Worker in CA in a private Foster Home Agency where she was responsible for the support and supervision of foster families working with Severely Emotionally Disturbed children ages 0-18. Her areas of experience and expertise include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, grief, substance abuse and chemical dependency, sexual abuse and trauma recovery, affair recovery, marital counseling, pre-marital counseling, divorce recovery and spiritual concerns. Debbie adheres to the traditional therapeutic approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Brief Solution- Focused Therapy, Insight-Oriented Therapy and Grief Therapy integrated with Biblical principles.
